i need some help to choose a hi performance car, the story is that i had a really bad bike crash 3 years ago and the insurance is paying out in the next 3 months, i am investing a large amount in a house, and i have worked out that i can spend between 25 and 30,000 pound on a car. now i love my speed. i don't care if it is a two seater. and i dont mind if it not comfy. i should mention that it has to be good for the road and the track as i live 20mins away from cadwell park

i used to sell scubies, i do like them but found that alot of them were coming back with the bottom end going:confused:

Don't think thats an issue with teh 2.5 boxer engine is it? Sounds more like the problems that plagued the old P1 engine.

true when i was selling them that was the new car to have dont know what the newer ones are like

if i had a scoobie it would be a P1 or 22B and nothing else, to comman and seem to get the piss taken out of them now as a chav car :(

Yeah they are iconic models just too old now to be reliable. The WR1 would be great if it wasn't such a terrible colour. The RB320 is nice cos it's black but at the end of the day they're only STis with the PPPack on them.

You could pick up a Vauxhall VXR220 Turbo for 20ish. They take some beating around the track. Nice rapid road car too if you're not bothered about comfort :)

0-60 in 4.2 anyone?

i murdered one of those in a straight line, wouldnt stand a chance round the twistys

A VXR? Surely not. A turbo maybe...or dare I say it the NA :D

If it were me i'd go for an Ariel Atom, and being an ex biker you would love it, 0-60 in 2.7 secs, 0-100 in 6.8 secs, 8600 RPM Honda V-Tec and 600 BHP per tonne, they handle well, are dead reliable, ok for the road, ace for the track and within your budget, and you don't even need a helmet. Oh and they also do an Atom 500 V8 with about 1000 BHP per tonne, though that may be to expensive for you.

it was bright yellow and had a turbo badge on it, once to 70ish i just sailed past

that atom would be great but it has no hood. not that i would drive it in the rain but i would not want to get caught out.

Porker 911 Turbo??

BMW M3 CSL

Aston Martin DB7

TVR T350c :D

Mitsi Evo 9 (A friend of mine has just sold his 9 320 to buy a 10, had a decat, remap and a filter and was 397bhp and 398lbft jesus christ could it shift!)

Jag XKR

BMW M5 (Old shape obviously, but a realy nice car, last of the more mechanical M cars!)

BMW 850CSI (must be a CSI with the 48v 5.6 v12 @ 380bhp and 6 speed box, very rare and very special!)

it was bright yellow and had a turbo badge on it, once to 70ish i just sailed past

That would be a turbo not a VXR ;)

I think there was only something like 400 VXR's made??

Yeah thats the VX220 turbo. The VXRs are Red with Black wheels. Still quick little cars mind. 0-60 in about 5 but they wont have the legs to keep up with a Z on the straight.

You could build a really good quality Lamborghini Diablo replica for £30.000, using the BMW V12 engine mounted in the rear, with a tubular steel spaceframe chassis, the only downside is that you would have to build it yourself to keep within budget. Also because they are a high quality replica, it would be a shame to use it on the track. Other than that i'd have the usual suspects such as a tuned Escort Cossie, Sierra Cossie, Evo, Impreza, Porker 911, Supra Turbo, Honda NSX, you could build a very quick 300 for that sort of money, the list goes on..............
