a v-spec, its not what i started out to buy as i wanted a mint one but i think it could be

it has:

HKS turbos

HKS FMIC

HKS oil cooler

ohlins suspension

blitz voice guide turbo timer

hks EVC 3 boost controller

hsk vein controller

500BHP chip

k&n induction filters

Stainless exhaust

stainless down pipes

nismo strut brace

nismo clucth

battery in the boot

 

plus alot more all work carried out by Abbey and Middlehurst there are bills for at least £15k on mods but the guy never looked after the body there is a fair few stone chips and underneath needs a good going over as it hasn't been undersealed for a long time. surface rust but not bad, but i think the car needs a re-spray to make it mint. but i gave nothing for it and is worth more in bits so if i dont like i will break it before spening on it.

just got it delivered it also has nismo clutch, FSH, battery is in the boot, blitz voice guide turbo timer ,the after market suspension is Ohilins???. dont know about the tubs yet just on the bill it says HKS needle roller turbos @£1200 each and 264\256 cams???

 

nice one looke like its got some nice bits on it :)

 

best bet with the turbos will be to check the plaque on the front one, you should also be able to make out the hks casting on the turbos or call abbey but i would have thought they sound like 2510's or gtss turbos

 

does it have uprated injectors in it? again the 550s should be blue or purple

 

if its set up right and has the right fueling it should be a nice quick fast spooling road car by the sounds of it :)

thanks mike thats a big. help will look at injectors today i am looking over the car to see how much work it needs to see if i keep it or break it for parts

yeh sounds like they are, what levels of boost does it run and does it have a boost controller?

 

i would guess that the ecu is chipped and running around 1 bar but to get the most of the turbos which i have been looking into and it looks like they are the 2510's so they should be good for 1.4 bar and with some 550's and a power fc you should see 500 bhp :D

it is chipped i have a bill that says ABBMO 500bhp eprom @£280 and £80 carrier it has an HKS EVC 3 controller and a vein controller also the cams are trust 264\256 and vernier sprokets

it can be difficult to see but you can usually make out the front turbo, i have picture of my hks turbos so will dig it out to show you, on the front theres also a plaque of the model and serial number.

 

with regards to the chip, i would be careful as on oem injectors it wont run anywhere near 500 bhp so i would get the injectors checked and the map but if your going to keep it i would spend a bit and get some uprated injectors and a power fc to get the most of the car :)

i have a question as i'm worried now i have looked under the boost controller and it was all unpluged. i plugged the boost controller back in and it seems ok, i haven't plugged the vein controller in as it alters the air flow etc and i dont know what i'm doing. also the guage on the left is a temp gauge that goes in the exhaust manifold but doesnt seem to work. if these are unplugged does the car go back to stock setup or could it cause problems

i presume its now running air flow meters? as the vein controller gets rid of these so no dont plug it back in if you have AFMs, also the boost controller has possibly been unplugged again due to what ever ecu it was running so it wont boost as high and damage the engine but again i would hazard a guess that it will be set up for 1.3-1.4 bar on the high setting.

 

not sure about the EGT guage, obviously theres no reason why that should be unplugged so try looking at the wiring, could be a loose wire or something?

 

Does it have a boost guage? check what its boosting to, if its about the same as a zed then thats stock and safe for the time being, may run rich (all skylines do anyway) as its set up for 500 bhp fueling but as ive said keep a look out for an apexi power fc and get it mapped, cost me about £1k for the new ecu and mapped by RB's and your looking at about £300 for injectors so for £1300 you could have it running full power again :)

thanks mike:bow::duffer: i'm not insured yet so i cant take it out yet, it does has AFM and i dont like the sound of the vein controller hks have stopped making them too. i am going to take it somewhere to get it checked and mapped properly.
