How many of you cook on a regular basis? I enjoy cooking, helps me relax after working tbh. So how many of you do the same?

pouring boiling water over chopped onions(in a sieve) is supposed to take the bitterness off also I understand

never heard that one ?

but most the bitterness will come from the skin or if its old so make sure you peel the skin off completly with no sign of crappy skin.

I should start a post on the quickest way to dice an onion you lot will love it. :)

Only thing I wish I had more knowledge of is spices - I know all the different flavours etc just not sure how to affect flavours etc. More experimentation needed I guess....

We take turnsto cook and to wash the dishes.

Who ever cooks does the dishes and so on. no arguements then :D

I cook most meals by request of my children and my stomach, because my very very soon to be EX lives up to the French synopsis that the English kill their food twice. Once when they kill it and then when they cook it.

Also because she thinks prepping real ingredients to make a meal + cooking it with real heat, means you have to attend to it, get proportions and seasonings right and that just talks away valuable drinking time. So ding is her speciallity because it will not burn while she is comatose with her face on the kitchen table if put in for the time specified on the packet.

This is a good idea for tea tonight Andy :D

It's a case of keep things simple, good ingredients and don't mixe too many herbs and spices or the flavours are lost. Experiment using less Andy. Less ingredients and less different flavours.
