I am in the process of setting up a website and need payment options. There are so many different merchant banking services with different set up costs and charges. Does anyone on here have any knowledge or experience that could point me in the right direction?

depending on the volume of payments you intend to process, one fairly easy option is to set up regular card processing with your bank - either a chip & pin machine or an online interface, then set up your website to report card details to you through a secure server. If/ when the website takes off, you can then look for an automatic service that will suit the volume of sales and your cash-flow requirements.
