I aint been for over 4 years and then a few week back half a filling came out in a chewy sweet. Went for the standard check up and yep I needed it re-filling. Went today for said filling and christ, now I remember why I never went for so long, the needle LOOKS HUGE and she had to stick the bogger in twice for it to take effect, now that hurts. So now after successfull filling I'm sat here drinking lager out the can through a straw and starving but daren't eat incase I chew me cheek to bits LOL :mac1: :rant: :duffer:

I really really really hate injections in the mouth.

 

Dont mind injections elsewhere, but In the mouth :cry: .... would rather have them drill and rip my teeth out without them....but unfortunately they insist. :rant:

I have 2 that need filling but I am not scared of teh dentist, injections or anything like that. I just got riped off by one a long time ago. Explosion, hit in face, tooth shattered, dentist did all the bits, face swelled, ended up with infection, dentist drained and re-did 4 times then she found out I had broke my jaw and the infection had spread.

 

ended up having bolts put in jaw under my nose and loosing the tooth, then having to pay for more dental work that they fooked up in the first place. That was 15 years or more ago, just cant bring myself to get ripped off again.

 

Oh as a footnote to this, while looking for a new dentist I tried 3 others in the local area, all 3 reckoned I needed 1-4 fillings, but not 1 of them was for the same tooth, now how worrying is that?

NHS dentist have to do at least 20 fillings a day toget paid.

It's all worked out by some sort of points system. If they don't hit the target they don't get paid full whack.

 

It's worth going private for a check up and then going NHS to get the work done that Private say you need.

 

Or just take a flight to Eastern Europe for a few days.

 

A whole set of Porcelain teeth over there is about £3k. Here you are looking at least 4 or 5 times that. Give it another 10 years and I'll probably get all mine done. Don't need anything done yet touch wood, went to the dentist in Jan and just had to have one small filling at the back.
