Every year on fathers day there is a meet called Supercar sunday. It has every kind of supercar you can think of as well as club members cars like Nissan 300/350, Nissan skylines, Honda NSX, Toyotas dodge Vipers and so on. There is well over 30 lambos, ferraris and the list just goes on. There is a stunt display by Russ Swift and if you so wish there is also a track that you can buy track time for. So if anyone is interested in this then let me know and I will sort some thing out for you all

whats going to happen then? just arrive in the morning? Do we need to have tickets in advance or anything?

Right guys I should be hearing from the event organisers on tuesday so I will be posting up more details of this venue on tuesday. We have been set a section for showing upto 24 zeds. Your cars will be viewed by the public and we do a tour of the main arena in our cars so please do us proud as there are other clubs like nissan skyline's, dodge vipers, ferrari's and lambo's just to name a few. I must point out though that these passes/tickets are only for people showing and taking one of the above.

Right every thing as now been finalised for supercar sunday and we have an area set out for 24 cars, We will be having a convoy going from Nottingham trowell services meeting at 7.00am in the morning. I will be picking up the tickets from the collection point at the heritage centre when I get there so can you all please get intouch with me so that we can arrange meeting up for your passes

I'll be there although not in my Z ... I'll be catching a ride with a friend who's bringing his MYO8 Lamborghini LP640 Roadster :hyper: He's driving it down from Monaco on the Saturday so I hope the weather holds out on the day ... nothing worse than driving in a real super car with a very leaky canvas roof! LOL!

 

By the way Ceejay, how did you manage to persuade the organisers that the 300/350/etc are classed as "supercars"? I tried that some years ago and was told in no uncertain terms to get my head examined ... LOL!

Yes, I'm aware of that but strictly speaking the 300 was never a so-called "supercar" and hence should not be displayed as such. I know that 300's have been there for quite some year, usually in very small numbers. When I enquired about arranging a larger space for 20+ cars I was "informed" that this wouldn't be possible due to the nature of the car. Hence my question about how you managed to secure space for 24 cars ... that's all. :) I'm glad you did - will be good to see a collection of 300's holding their own amongs the more exotic cars. I was there last year in my 300 but only because I came with the Lamborghini Club UK (of which I'm a member). I parked well out of the way of the main area and did overhear some people questioning why the car was there at all. Then again, the MX5 Club usually show up with a few cars as does Alfa Romeo ... and they get these remarks all the time.

 

In any case - it's all academic and it really doesn't matter one way or the other. It's all about enjoying a good day out so in that spirit I shall hopefully see you all there! ;) However, remind me not to stand too close to the fence when Russ Swift comes tearing past in his EVO (or like) as I got a big mouthfull of burned rubber last year! :wack:

Just to let you all know this is filling up quite nicely as there are a few coming from the zclub to and so others with 300 that are not in our clubs so all in all this should be a good meet. please make a note of my mobile number which is: 07976-606151 as you will need to get intouch with me for collecting your passes. We will be leaving Trowell services which is just south of juntion 26 of the M1 around 7.15/7.30 so please be on time if you are folling from this point. We will then travel south to juntion 21 and take the M69 towards Coventry, at the end of the M69 we will go onto the A46 towards warwick and the M40. We will then join the M40 at juntion 15 and head south again till we get to juction 12 and then from there to the venue so if you are wishing to tag on at any point along the route just let me know and I will try to give to an ETA

And after some serious discusion with Ceejay today we jointly would like to remind all those traveling down in this convoy to be aware of the potential for attracting unwanted attention from the flashing blue light brigade.:nono:

So .... please just fall in to line behind Ceejay on the way down . He is leading the trip at a sensible speed. You wont get in to the show until Chris arrives anyway and goes to get our tickets.:rolleyes:

 

If you want to act like a dickhead and go side by side motorway racing etc at highly illegal speeds just wait until you are leaving the show on your way home:eek:
