My daughter has a problem with her ipod, and was wondering if any body has any ideas ?

It is a 5th Gen video iPod and when she connected it to her laptop earlier in

the week, her iTunes told her that she had a corrupted iPod and should try unplugging it and unplugging it then resotre it if that didn't work. So she unplugged and replugged, no difference. She then restored the iPod which meant she lost all her songs etc but there is still no difference, apparently it's still corrupted. She tried pressing the menu and circle button together, again no difference, also ran the diagnostic menu but the iPod seems to be clearing all the tests. Before she restored it, the iPod was playing fine, and she was mainly re-charging it through her docking station which is why she hadn't connected it to her laptop for a while.

Have you tried pressing the menu and the centre button at the same time to get it to re-boot? If that fails try installing itunes on a different pc and updating the software from that. (if thats what the above links say then i'm stumped lol)

If you want to bring it over i could try and update the new software on my pc. My dads got the 160Gb video but my uncles nano went tits up and said it was corupted but when i plugged it into my pc and updated the software it worked ok. You can also back up the music just like and external harddrive so you don't lose the music.

Ive got a nano that did the same I just left it on so it ran out of charge then reconnected to my pc and it sorted itself out! They are more intelligent than us after all!!!
