Im sure you have all seen or heard of these fuel additives that claim to up the octane rating of your fuel...my question is do they actually do anything? They claim to increase bhp, mpg etc. I use v-power in the car and wondered if there would be any benefit if i coupled that with octane booster. Anyone used one of these products before? Thanks. Dan.

there was a test on 5th gear, they tested around 5 products and they all lost power

No idea if it works but there is no need to go for a higher octane then V-power offers. Any higher and you would need to get the Car mapped for more aggresive timing to make use of the higher octane rating...and then it would detonate like hell whenever you dont use a higher octane rating additive.

Get some toluene and do the job properly !
