How accurate are they really? i know they say more than 99% correct but just wondered.

for instance (hypatheticaly of course ;) ) if a girl i was seeing is late by nearly a week and takes a clear blue test this morning and its negative then thats pretty accurate right???

Cause hypetheticaly i could have been climbing the walls for the last 48 hours since i was told she was late, and would like piece of mind.....

Women are built to confuse ! Hypothetically, she should get a second test, a different type ...

would'nt show after a week if i remember rightly it took me and the missus 2 weeks and then doctors to confirm

Well the thing says that it can be taken up to 4 days before the period's due date, after that date its 99% correct. The slip up between us was 2 1/2 weeks ago?

God knows cant answer that one, never actually done one.

should imagine there would be a one percent chance she is i guess

They are pretty accurate but depends how late she is...

if its like a day late and negative - stop panicking and wait.

if its like 3 weeks late and negative - set panic level @ 50% and go see a doctor

if its negative on home pregnancy and positive at docs - push your panic level up to about 100% :)

So based on that (considering he said she's a week late I think), panic levels should be somewhere around 17%...

(though I think mine would be nearer 1000%)

i guess you could say instead of it being a slip up you could say it was a COCK UP  :x:

Don't know about a Doctor's test - our Doc went by the test we got from Tesco!!!! Bear in mind that they pick up on hormone levels (trys to refrain from obvious comments regarding women/hormones :slap: ), so - based on the time scale involved - she may not be producing significant levels yet. We've just had our first and I've no intention of giving up the zed, but I don't live in London!!!

All the best,

Steve

I would say she needs to do another test and you need to be there when she sees the result.

Shouldn't worry yet, especially if she isn't normally that regular.

Moral of the story is as Joey said in bread, "if you are going paddling wear your wellies"

Good luck with it.
