Heres something that my mate put in his lakes in the south of France, Its called a Silver carp, Mixture of a Grass carp and the normal strain of Commons.

Two went in the lake one at 66lb and this one at 69lb, never caught it, but watched it swim past the end of my swim, about 7 feet away, like a fooking croc.

27lb 8 large plate mirror les saisons, june last year still not do the thirty yet but getting close will be a good year ??remember where you heard it first

That'll be in the village of Trencreek on the edge of Newquay (I lived there for 6 months). Greg's in W-S-M so it's a bit of a trek.

I used to carp a lot at Bolingey, near Perranporth, and had loads of doubles. It was a real shame that there was a water-poisoning incident.

Greg, give me a shout when you come up to Gloucester - I'd go to Lechlade with you. I don't know how it's doing since the flooding, but there is a lake next to the Walham power station in Gloucester (the one that was on the news about the flooding) and that has/had lots of doubles - hard to catch, though, apparently.

not talking about trencreek at newquay but trencreek farm near st austell/mevagissey

Ah right! Coincidence 'cos the one at Newquay has carp too.
