A bit of technical help needed, anybody near me in West Essex.

I've started on replacing my heater matrix and can't seem to get the heater box out.

I'm a bit worried if I pull on anything too hard I'll do some permanent damage; i.e. the car won't be driveable and I'll have to get it towed to S.E. or somewhere? Anybody offer advice or assistance or should I just take it to S.E.?

I wouldn't normally do something like this myself but I wanted to see if someone would make up a matrix that would be stronger than the Nissan one which seems to be naff.

Bloody hell that was quick!

Yeah there is a leak and I think it is the matrix that is leaking. I,ve followed the link and the write up from your site and the one from twinturbo.net.

Any help is appreciated, you can call me 07958 937748 I or can call you.

The matrix is not naff at all.

9/10 the problem has started elsewhere.

I suggest your head gasket(s) have gone or your head(s) are twisted.

The matrix will blow when charged with turbo exhaust gas.

Ive been there.

By all means replace the matrix, but also be prepared for the massive engine repair that would be best left to SE Nissan.

They sorted mine out after I'd replaced the matrix a few months before.

Lets us all know how you go.

Mike Feeney is right near you close to the Secret Nuclear Bunker.

Well after a bit of a struggle the matrix is out and is very definitely leaking. Difficult to tell whether it was faulty to start with (v.unlikley as it's apparantly the 4th time it's happened), or it's due to head gasket problems (no other signs) or it's due to some electrolytic reaction in the cooling system. Pete at SE had already suggested the possibility of the head gasket ...

Andy Came over and we managed to get the matrix out. Top bloke Andy, thanks for your help.

Pete has suggested that the cause is as you say RT. Before I go to the expense of a massive engine repair did you notice any other symptons? How long ago did you have the engine work done i.e. how many miles? and have you had any problems since.

Was it the head gasket that was done? How much did the work cost?

Thanks
