Does anyone have their PC connected to their Xbox for using Media Centre? I have tried and failed, even tried plugging the ethernet into the laptop from the Xbox.

Have you got a DHCP server running on your router Martyn, or do you have a static IP on your PC? The XBOX, PC and router must all be using addresses from the same subnet (eg: 192.168.1.x)

I have Home Vista with Media Centre.

I have the laptop connected to the internet wirelessly and I have the ethernet plugged into the Xbox from the router. I have set up the extender but the connection keeps disconnecting. I'm assuming this is because I have a 802.11g wireless card?

Connection Terminated. The xbox 360 has been disconnected because an application has launched UI unexpectedly. Would you like to reconnect?
