i'm replacing my cambelt this week and wondered if anyone has opinions on changing the rollers and tensioner, i've been told not to bother by nissan but would like a second or third opinion. cheers.

if you can bud then do so. remembering that they could well be the oem originals at around 15 years old. you never know if who ever changed the belt last had replaced them or not. piece of mind i would change them, not to mention the cam seals and water pump.

Beyond any doubt....get a complete kit.....it's well woth the extra cost!

I bought my first Z in August...one of the reasons I bought it was because the previous owner had just serviced the cambelt. Was beside myself driving it home from Glasgow when the cambelt failed...or rather the new cambelt was fine....but it had come off from the pulley roller having dislodged it. Devasted! I later discovered that only a new cambelt was fitted and the rest of the system was probably original. Of course it could be that it was incorrectly tensioned.....but at the end of the day I've had to pay out for a new engine which cost best part of £2k all in.

The crux of it all...just not worth the gamble....the difference between £70 for a new belt and £250 for a new complete kit is a no brainer for me!

Better to be safe than sorry! Hope this is helpful.
