......how bloody stupid is it, that the DVLA close their tax-disc renewal page for maintenance at the end of a month???

 

Surely they know that's when most people will be trying to renew their tax disc :rant:

 

Or maybe that's their evil plan - to make everyone late so the b@stards can fine us all :rant: :rant:

i was talking to a collegue today about the renewal system for tax discs and i wondered if you renew your disc on line how can you display the new tax disc until it arrives as i presume they post it out to you

i did mine this evening no probs :confused:

Im not sure but I thought if you renewed on line you had plenty of time before the end of the month to do it, therefore you had plenty of time for it to arrive in the post, providing there is no postal strike.

Aye - tis true! They will send it to arrive within 5 working days, or sooner if possible if expiry of the old one is imminent.

 

However as it is for my ZX, the car is safe in my garage and I don't need to use it, so it's no problem waiting for the disc to arrive before driving it again.

 

I have left it to the last minute intentionally - as is my right to hold on to my cash for as long as possible ;)

Fair play mate, I know where your coming from.

word of warning it does'nt always turn up within 5 days and if its been declared as SORN you loose a month if you do it online before the end of the month i done it a day before the month end and lost the whole month and then i waited 2 weeks so i phoned up they told me there was a problem with postage so i went to my local office to pick it up, waited in the queue and when i came out to add insult to injury i had a big fookin yellow clamp on my punto, all together it cost over 200 quid including tax and clamp fine £100 plus vat (robbin gits)
