A parents funraising group at my club applied for an Awards for all grant on 2 seperate occasions. Both turned down. The first because AfA had lost some of the paperwork, this caused the application to be moved to the next hearing, 4 months away. The project had to start during this time as it was Mini Tennis in schools and had to be done during temr time.

The grant got thrown out because we had started before it was processed.

The second has just been turned down. Offering free coaching for 6 months to the local community. Turned down because the account needed an audit. Not a problem, but it has not been used for a year and there is £1000 in it to put towards the project. It would cost us £300 to have it auditied. Now if it was a massive account with lots of cash I can understand. Even the accountant said it was pointless as there was nothing to audit.

Meanwhile Awards for All and the National Lottery are complaining that no one is applying for Grants. I wonder why.

Yeah red tape is a shit, but I bet there would be many more theads about people abusing the system if the red tape was not there.

oh like the grant for 200k that was awarded for a center to teach imigrants how to fill out a CV.
