A very good friend of mine has taken her Micra to a garage to have atiming belt fitted, and they have had the car for a week - and are now demanding £300 up front before they do any work and that the final bill will be £500

For a Micra 1.0?

Is there anyone here who could fit one for a max of £400 hopefully less, in the west midlands area?

Its a 2003 on a '03' plate.

Cheers

I think you will find it has a timing chain as opposed to a belt, possibly why its a bit more pricey.. but that still seems quite a lot..

Yep according to Nissan FAST CD its a chain alright - in that case there's no need to replace it unless the car has done SERIOUSLY high mileage!!!!
