How important is forum membership to owning a car? You buy a car? You join a related forum based owners club and get involved and become hooked. After a while the novelty wears off and you get bored with the forum. Would this have an effect on your ownership of the car? Would you now want to sell the car and start again with another forum? Is this why so many people are selling up just lately because they are not happy here?

NO! before you ask. This isn't me saying I am. Not at all. I asked the same question to a mate of mine who changes he's cars like normal people change the CD playing in their stereo. In turn he changes to another forum and is trying to convince me that the forum membership has nothing to do with it.

I must admit that forum membership does help. The like mindedness of the members and the help if things go wrong. The meetings and comparing what you do to your car to others is all part of the joy of ownership.

I know a few of us go on other forums but this is the main and I also go on the Z Club and the skyline owners forum but thats it really.

i bought my car 1st cos ive always wanted one the forum is a bonus and a superb place to find info and cheap bits lol even if i changed my zed to something else i would still log on to this club as ive made some great friends on here and had ome wild fun ( eh wozzer ) lol

i bought my Z in Feb 2001 because I just love the cars. Didnt even realise the forum existed until March 2005.

Saying that, now that I have seen the advantages of forums like this I have joined similar ones for all my other cars and will continue to do so for any other cars i own in the future. So I guess now, forums/clubs do play a vital role for the car enthusiast mainly because of the shared information which is what the internet is all about.

Either way, love the car, love the club :duffer: :duffer:

i found the forum first read up about owning a zed , and keeping one ignored all of that and bought one anyway !! but sadly sold it last july !

doesn't bother me at all, I own a car because I like it, other owners don't really come into it at all.

I agree that it has become a vital part of ownership being part of this club. I wouldnt get shot of my car though if I no longer wanted to be part of the club. Although I can see a reason there somewhere. My mate got banned from a forum and then got shot of the car.

I bought my car, did a search on Google by just entering 300zx and this site came up on or near the top of the list so I joined. Things have changed over the last 2 years or more but its still a great place. :D

Well i joined the mk3 supra forum because I know of usful they are. Its not anything like as busy as here though. I didnt know about this forum when i bought my Z, only afterwards found out my car was imported by a member on here!

i wanted and bought a z without knowing about this forum, only found it when i started googling 300zx, joined up immediately, and i have to say the forum has been invaluable for advice and buying stuff, especially when you dont have access to other owners over here, and then the added bonus is the social aspect of the forum and making new friends, i never intend to sell my car so will be around here for a while, i also have an rx7 and have joined a couple of related forums but are not as busy or friendly as here, i know things and members change but imho this is a great club/forum

I bought my first Zed in 2002 and was unaware of this forum until a couple of years later. It's all about the car for me but I do enjoy the banter on here and have met some terrific people through this club.
