Just sold my house.

Do I rent or buy again?

 

Rent - was looking at paying around the 500pcm mark then save another £500 pcm and put it into savings for mortgage at later date.

 

Buy - Looking around the £160K mark so think mortgage on a 15 yr deal will be about £1300 pcm by the time ive done

 

 

dont know whether to rent for a few years and save up - renting is dead money but if im saving does that outweigh it?

 

Is now a good time to buy?

Most we could take a mortgage on is 20 years due to age.

 

Want to live life a bit and have holidays etc - if we rent thats great but worries that we may not afford house to retire in as such.

Buy!

 

Renting is just throwing money away. If your in a position to buy then do it.

 

You will NOT be getting more money by saving with a lower rent than puting more money into the mortgage.

 

Rent = £6000 a year

Mortage = £14400 a year

 

so renting you will save £7000 but thrown 6000 away.

 

Buying the house will have gone up by at least £7000 and you have lost no money.
