Can anyone help a thicko like me understand what may be happining with My PC.

For some weeks now it has been like revving up as though it is reading a disc

but there is not one in it. :confused:

It does this nearly all the time it is switched on, only dying down to a normal state for a couple of second before revving up again.

 

Anyone any Idea's

Sounds like the fan inside is telling you its getting too hot. get some spray duster and open the pc up, get all the dust out thats warming up the insides.

whats reving a dvd drive, hard drive or fan ?

Not sure

I thought it was the Hard Drive

If it's your HD play it safe and do a backup.
