can you rev ya car to say 3000rpm while havin the drive in PARK ,then put the gear change to drive ,while still revin high?

will this fooooook ya car?

ive never done it as i always thought it would foooooook my gear box????

That will fook your 'box totally. what you do is plant your foot firmly on the brake, rev to 2500 quickly and let go the brake then press your accelerator flat to the floor, in my car the effect is shattering, and leaves at least £20s' worth of rubber on the road, but when you have worked out what is right for your car then you will beat any 5speed off the line with no trouble, no matter how good the '3-pedal jockey' thinks he is.

Always let the 'box cool after doing each run, never do too many in short order as this will fook the ATF.

I think you've been watchin too many yank movies.

I used to drive an auto for 4 years and I did it a couple of times by accident but from neutral. Didn't get the impression that it was too healthy for the car.

If I got in to an off the lights situation, I found loading up whilst in gear(feet on brake and gas) and then launching at high revs was much safer.

Ive been sat reading posts in the 300zxforum.com (yank 300 forum)and this guy was asking about it,thats why i asked.

just thought foooook it cant be good for ya gearbox.cheers guys

Might even break your neck if you dropped it in at too high revs !!

wouldn't bother doign that at Santa Pod either, you will be sat at the line spinning your wheels for ever. Unless they ever get down to treating the track again.

Doing this several times cost me a gear box. I had the gear in neutral 7000 rpm and put the d inside. great burn out but cost me a 700 recondition for the box.
