Well , I`ve been watching parts of tonight`s final , and a few things occurred to me .

Whenever someone receives the ball , several big blokes jump on him within two paces , stopping the flow of the game : Make that a foul .

 

The shape of the ball makes it bounce erratically , so they have to use hands to control it , leading to the above kind of response : make the ball round , and handling it a foul .

 

Players just kick the ball indiscriminately in the air , hoping one of "theirs" will catch it , Even if one does , part one happens . A round ball would make passing along the ground , or in the air , to a specific team-mate a more reliable option .

 

Players deliberately hoof the ball forward and out of play ; again , stopping the flow of the game : make that a definite advantage to the other team : a free throw-in , say .

 

We could call it Association Football !

A: Dont get touched and roll around on teh floor like a spoiled brat when no one touched you in teh hope the ref will take pitty on your pool limp wristed soal and give you a free penalty for no reason. (Insert cheating coonts in here somewhere) Obviously slowing teh "flow" of teh game.

 

B: Actualy get touched and have to have 6 onths off on full pay because you got the hint of a bruise. Slowing teh game again as you need to be stretchered off when you could quite easy sprint let alone walk. Head back into teh dressing room for some much neede dcoke.

 

C: Jump up and hand ball the ball into the back of teh net and be called the greatest footballer ever.

 

D: Be Wayne Rooney and have the england flad tatoed on youor arm but refuse to sing or lear the national anthem in case someone pokes fun at you.
