I get about 16mpg round town with a little booting.

Motorway about 25mpg at 70-80 mph

Colky,

Z all the way my friend........S14...nope, S13 nope.......(I have owned an S13, and it was great but...)

Z is by far the best car I have owned, MPG...don't worry about it, the smile on your face more than makes up for the 25mpg....it rocks!!!

Trust me.......

Your car is broken ! 190 to a tank FFS !

I think you may need to recheck your maths. How many litres is that for 190 miles ? And remember you have a 72 litre tank.

When driving with wellies to the floor around town it's 12mpg but mine is running 16psi.

25 ish on a long run.

Mr Mac says his economy is massively improved after changing his exhaust gas sensor thingies... (can't remember the name right now cos i'm wankered biggrin.gif) and PCV's.

A tenner seems to last about half an hour of thrashing :S

Mine got down to about 17mpg when one of my O2 sensors was shagged. Back to about 22 now, although new PCV's and a manual box have both made a difference. I reckon using Optimax on a long motorway run at a steady 80/90mph would yield 26mpg+

Mike, if you want to head my way sometime we can put the Techtom on your car and see if the O2 sensors are working correctly. Alternatively, if all your journeys are very short (

Unmodded (apart from Mongoose) 1990 J import manual, 22 - 24mpg

If it's any consolation my S13 does about 14-18mpg to work and back with a little playing around, and 26mpg at 95mph on a run.

That's only a 1.8 litre engine though. So it looks like the Zeds aren't much worse. I'm pushing out around the same BHP as a std Zed though.

Only getting about 200miles from a tank.

there all good motors, just want to way up all pros and cons were do you lot get insurance from im 23 tescos were good on the s13 and 14 but want mega bucks for the zed yet the zed is only a group higher than the s14 isnt it ?

Colky,

If you can buy a UK Z preferably 10 years or older as you can get 'classic' insurance.

I know I'm a bit older at 28 but my insurance on my Z is 329 squids!!

If you buy an import you will be pissing in the wind at your age.

What group is a S14?

But it doesnt go off just the group. For me a RX-7 and Supra are cheaper insurance

ive had my 02 sensors replaced and i still get only about 200 miles to a tank

S13 16, S14 17, but like you say the grouping doesn't really mean much, just a base figure, it goes on what past experiences & claims etc a specific company has had with certain models of car and clients that match your description.

I looked at getting MK3 soup, my insurance co wouldn't transfer it, so I got the S13, yet I can get insurance cheaper for a soup than the S13.

I thought the Z was group 20?

I'm paying about £850 for an import Z with a fair few mods declared and points on my license.
