All dance music fans, read on.........

Whilst randomly looking on Youtube, I discovered some dance music that I'd never heard before. I thought it was great the first time I heard it. So give the links a try and lets do a quick poll of who likes and who dislikes. Also, have you heard of them before ??? All the tracks are quite long, so you'll need some time to go through the whole lot. Play each track 4 times and you'll be hooked :) :)

My comment about Bruce Springsteen was meant as a "bait" for someone, and you certainly took it hook line and sinker :) :) I actually have the Philadelphia track on my ipod :)

I must be the most NON narrow minded music fan around. I have everything from dance music, pop, rock, metal, classical, brit pop, punk and gof. I think theres some real music in there somewhere.

Still, no offence taken.

Andy ,

I seem to have got a trace of blood in my alcohol stream , debilitating my bait-sensor . Respect to ya . ( Philadelphia is a great song , by the way )

Like your attitude .

Be Happy

:D

We have a closet pervert within our midst  ;)

You mean we have some non-perverts in our midst ?

Has anyone ever noticed all Springsteen songs sound the same

Lol :)

Why do you have to play real instruments to be a 'real' musician? Electronic music is just as much 'music' as your Springsteen is. If you think otherwise then I would very much like to hear a good argument for your cause because right now you are looking like an a-hole.

Woah !

I missed this one . How illuminating that you call me an a-hole for defending musicians who use real instruments . Here we come to definitions of what real instruments are . Personally , I think that a musician can express himself with touch and feeling on , say , the guitar , by bending , sliding , hammmering on/off notes , hitting the strings softly or hard . Similarly , on the piano , there are levels of touch that inform the piece being played , emotionally .

I can`t disagree that electronic " music " exists . It`s just that it doesn`t touch the parts that the human heart , for want of a better word , responds to .

BTW , DON`T call me an a-hole !

:hyper: :hyper: PMSL

Yes , oddly enough , some of us actually like "songs" with some meaning . Preferably written , sung and played by real "musicians" .

One thing we do agree on : Not everyone can have good taste .

Stick to your Numpty views on "music" and continue to learn nothing .

I intend no offence , as I`m sure you didn`t with your surprisingly stupid post .

Unbelievable post!! :headvswal :headvswal

How can you try and use a 'get out' clause like "I intend no offence" with a post like that.

Go on then! Define a musical instrument.

Ever played the pink oboe? ;) ;) ;)

Is it an electric instrument?

Yeah I downloaded it as well :D But still one for the car though ;)

There is a lot of Electronic music out there that has nothing to do with copying or sampling other peoples work in any form. In fact there has been electronic music around since the early 70's (FACT = The Teleharmonium (or Telharmonium) was developed by Thaddeus Cahill in the years 1898-1912.) :D

Bands such as....

A Flock of Seagulls

Depeche Mode*

Duran Duran*

Devo

New Order

Gary Numan*

Ultravox

But the epitomised pioneers of that era were, undoubtedly, Kraftwerk way back in the 70's, and still going today!

* Music writers and performers, still going today, non of which sample others work! ie; REAL MUSICIANS! :D

Do you not like Hip Hop too Andy?

I'm the same I listen to it all. Just love music (full stop).

I haven't played the pink oboe and I have no intention to do so.

True.

You missed out the Electric LIght Orchestra, who are on my mp3 player right now... :D :D :D

I'm glad to hear some of you appreciated the music I recommended. Theres some really good stuff out there that never makes it into the mainstream.

Personally I do differentiate between the so called "real music" and dance music. I see "real music" as kind of "artistic" and dance music more of a "vibe" or "uplifting" experience. It seems to me that a lot of people can't appreciate both forms. But to those who think "good" dance music is as simple as pressing a few keys on a keyboard then have a go at doing it yourself.

And remember that any form of music you don't like will always "all sound the same".

....

True.
