Title says it all really.

I'd like to replace my amber side repeaters with clear ones.

Is this legal or not?

Thanks.

I don't wish to do anything which may get me pulled over.

Clearly the interior light and the "300ZX" light on the back are legal, but are you sure sidelights aren't? I was led to believe that they are OK. Correct me if i'm wrong, but we have 2 sets of sidelights right? One set next to the indicator, and one set further in, below the headlights. I was under the impression that i would be OK with blue LEDs in one of these?

Number plate lights are also illegal, even though it's not a silly colour? I'm surprised, what with the barely-legible number plates which seem to be legal these days....

treading on funny territory, blue is associated with the police and blue lights as im aware should only be used on Police cars.

Just to be clear, they're not flashing or anything.

Any idea where i could find out about this kind of thing?

Cheers.

Great link.

to summarise:

"NON-FLASHING BLUE LIGHTS ON VEHICLES"

"This was the exact same question which was asked in the law section in the latest issue of Police Review (6th December).

The summary of the answer is no, they are not illegal [provided they are not red]. "

Although a lot of coppers don't seem to know that...

Hmm.

Thanks for your help ZGirl

the sex in public link was funny!!
