Drifting!

 

Just popped engine, just getting the hang of it too...

 

was just kicking clutch to put into the slide and something went bang, dumped engine oil, smoked and knocking, clutch and gear box still works engine runs but knocking/tapping. drove over something from engine! got car to safe place about 3 miles away, didnt seize either..lol

 

good job its a project car

 

drifting not good thing really... lol.

 

Will get it on a ramp and have a closer look !

Bang on the money, unless you can afford MANY engine rebuilds!

Didnt expect engine to go though, thought maybe it would do a driveshaft or diff, kicking the clutch to hard on it i guess, handbrake method better i guess !

Z's suffer pretty badly from oil surge.

If you want to drift in one you really need to baffle the sump well or go for a dry sump setup.

the sumps not that great a design for drifting/tracking seen a few bottom ends go on tracks

 

similar thing happens to motorbikes when wheeling etc oil leaves its main area of lubrication and with the heat it kills bearings quick
