SWB vs 2+2

Hi all, does anyone know the difference in length and in weight between a swb zx and a 2+2 zx, was up at zedworld on sat with couple other zeds and my swb seems a lot shorter and lighter,so relativley speaking my power to weight ratio should be better than a 2+2,thanks Tonyc. zx3.jpg

I want a SWB instead of my 2+2, I'd kill for one to be honest...........

But in the meantime I'll have fun in my 2+2..

SWB=2+2/ExtraBootSpace-Amp(Watts*6/9)+SVA(JSpec-KMH(SE)^2)/%GDP_of_Hokkaido

This gives us a figure of 2

And that, my friend, is how you work out how many seats you are missing.

Next question...

Max weights taken for 1999 top spec models (kgs).

2+0 - manual

NA 1550

TT 1630

2+2 – manual / auto

NA 1710 / 1740

TT 1780 / 1810

According to the Autocar test the UK spec 2+2 weighs 3480lbs (1546kg)

That is a manual. The Autos are heavier.

2 seater 3280 lbs (1457kg)

So total difference is 89 Kilos or about one person.

Hi Warren, Took a look at my info again, and I think Autocar were using the Dry Weights? For the 1999 models these are shown as:

2+0 - manual

NA 1440

TT 1520

2+2 – manual / auto

NA 1490 / 1520

TT 1570 / 1590

The lower spec Version S & R of the 2+2 is shown as 10 kgs lighter.

These Dry Weights are closer to the figures you have.

Gee, I guess the 1999 front bumper could make your car much slower when you fit it????

Ciao, Geoff

Thanks for info all,a fair amount of difference in the two on spec,i must admit its like driving a go-kart on steroids, especially on roundabouts and tight cornering, absolutely wonderfull, not had this much fun with a car since my mini days, never been in a car with sooo much power and wicked handling as this zx,still not floored it totaly even,(shit i must be getting weak in my old age)wish i could of gone to one of the zx meets at weekend, but had to suffer a granada club meet at drayton manor, trying to sell my 24v cosworth etc, talk about piss boring, spent most of my time talking to pipe smoking old folk, well guted, but cant wait for Billing! Thanks again.
