just made a lovely indian curry, got the recipie from a friend who has indian family

INGREDIANTS

4 chicken breast's (chopped into large chunks, or how you like them)

2 TBSPN of curry powder

half a TSPN chilli, paprika, garlic salt, nutmeg, mixed spice, celery salt

2 large onions chopped

1/2 lB mushrooms sliced

tin cook in sauce (homepride curry sauce)

raisins

large apple (chopped)

1 TBSPN tomato puree

green pepper (chopped)

METHOD

fry chicken in a wok for about 5 mins

put all other ingridients in a casserole pot add a pint of water and a TBSPN of flour, stir it up and stick it in the oven on 180 degrees (thats electric, not sure what the gas mark will be) for 1 hour, stir it up half way through, switch oven off and leave it in oven to cool down

its best to leave it over night to let all the juices soak into the chicken

this will serve about about 4 people, and will be plenty on the plates, you can add any kind of rice you like

EDITED DUE TO SOME ADDED METHOD

i hope you like, it is very nice and fun to make

I know, but I can't stand schrooms or raisens.

well this curry is not for you then, you need all ingridiants (i need to spell that properly lol)

you cant reaally taste them individually, but it does add to the taste

not a big fan of fruit in my curries but if its a genuine recipe, ill give it a go. Half the time there is fruit in curries anyway, you just cant taste it but it adds to the whole flavour :D

just plain bud, not sure why, but i just follow what i was rtold and its fookin gorgous, tastes as good as it sounds :D

I don't like mushrooms or raisens but i still add them to my curry's as its totally different. Also add coconut milk and pineapple instead of apple. Makes a nice sweet curry.

before changing it, just try it, its lovely, then add as you please :D

its very similar to the curry i make, a cook showed me when i was in the merchant navy, he said you cannot go wrong with a curry just add whatever you like. So i have and my family enjoy them or at least thats what they tell me lol.

I'm truly not trying to be funny as I LUUUUUV any kind of curry but can you really say it's a 'genuine Indian recipe' when it includes '2 TBSPN of curry powder' and 'tin cook in sauce (homepride curry sauce)'?

If you're going to use commercial ingredients then imo you can't do better than 'Patak's original madras chilli & cumin sauce'! It is only 50-70p a tin in Asda (says serves 4 but I serve it for 2) and, in my opinion, is the best tasting curry outside of Restaurants and Take-aways, in fact I am beginning to consider it my very favourite curry.

I prepare them slightly differently than suggested on the label and, if you're interested, I'll give you my very simple recipe.

the woman i got it off, has made it easier for us naieve english halfwits to make it without having to go to the extent of having to grow whatever it is that curry powder comes from, and made it so we could use ingrediants off the shelf as it would be too much to make it from scratch

does sound like cheating, but as im not of the cullinary fraternity i want it made easier, give it a try and tell me how it is

Yeah obviously

Shite man, best way to make an authentic curry is this:

1. Pick up phone and dial local balti house.

2. Place order

3. give address

4. wait 30 mins before food is delivered

5. serve food.

Peice O Piss man. ;)
