Yippee! Christ, i don't know who's sock i've sucked up above but Zena is alive! :nana2: :nana2: :nana2: :hyper: :hyper:

Did a compression test and all cylinders were spot on so though i'd eliminate each ignition fault one by one.

Eventually decided to hunt down the alarm system, checked the ecu and found jiggling it around made the alarm set off (which hadn't worked for 5 days)

Got one bank working and after a few attempts eventually got both sides of the engine working.

1 cylinder was misfiring so checked the coil pack and found some numpty had inserted 2 rubber seals instead of 1 so took it out, reseated the connector and it now idles perfectly, revs perfectly and runs absolutely spot on.

I'm sooo happy :D yay! :hyper: :nana2:

Thanks go to Slick Pete, Andy Duff, Friday, Everyone who's suggested ideas to solve it and Madhamster for offering his engine for sale.

Cheers guys,

Nick

hehe i'm only honouring what jim called her (she is a bit of a butch lesbian to be fair like the real xena warrior princess) lol

I didn't want to have all the hassle of organising it going ot london/getting a new engine etc so i thought i'd give it one more day then call it quits.

So glad i did now :D

nice one nick. hopefully see you soon when this crap weather clears up. eventually got to sarahs yesterday & found a couple of things out about mine from andy. he told me it was originally an auto thats converted to manual and its also chipped, which has saved me some money. lol :hyper:

Like you wouldn't believe matey!

One car not sold yet and i daren't sell it until i had this one working incase it was a duffer lol

Can't wait to get the last few bits fitted to finish the engine bay then it's ready to show

Really glad about that , mate . Big difference between needing a new engine and re-seating a coil pack ! Sometimes those last-minute efforts make a world of difference , eh ? Happy for ya , considering your previous probs :hyper:

Feel chuffed for you mate.. That's so nice when it turns out not to be as bad as you first think.. I know that feeling!! I had a 928 once, with the A.B.S light on.. Got quoted £400 to fix.. Had a look myself.. Turned out to require a 20p fuse :nana2: It's a good feeling isn't it!!

All the best with the new one buddy!!
