It's all gone a bit quiet on the SouthCentral front! When are we having our next meet?

It is summer you know, the time to get out and give our Zed's an airing.

Is our REO, Mental Tony arranging anything? The next meet I am aware of is IOW 1/2 September but we could get another two or three in before then, can't we?

Cheers - Dave

as far as I know, nothings been arranged except for that rolling road... nothing even official with dates for IOW is there?

Dave, if Tony is a bit too busy to organise anything - name a location, give us a date and we will see who can make it...

Yesterday would of been good :( at least the sun was shining - cant say much for today or the rest of the summer grrrr

:D :D

Dave, There's a rolling road day on the 4th August in Bournemouth

Yeah......I've seen this being arranged but it's not really my scene. I'm not really interested in the power of my Zed, so long as it gives me what I need on the road (which it does) then I'm happy. :D

If I wanted power I would have bought a TT!

Looking at previous threads I thought the IOW trip was planned for 1st/2nd September..........is no-one arranging this?

I enjoy the pub+chat+meal+photoshoot Type of meet best. Both the Hatchgate meets have suited me very well. I also love the sea so what about a coastal meet somewhere with some good backdrops for a photoshoot.....any suggestions?

Eileen was organising the whole IOW trip... but there has never been a definate date and unfortunatly due to circumstances she wont be able to post anything up about it anymore unless she goes through someone else.

agree on pub/chat/meal/photoshoot type of meets - Hatchgate ones have been good - and I think we need to spread our wings a little especially for the other south Central members... we cant keep it at one place or area.. we need to be a bit considerate ..

we've done bournemouth, new forrest, hook ..... where shall we head next??

is this what you reckon south central consists of?? (pretty much)

Dave, rolling road day's don't have to be about hp, a run on the rollers is also a good way to make sure every thing is running OK. If you have a problem like the it runs rich or lean it will show up, and by the way you may not notice it on the road until it becomes a major problem.

Just, my opinion.

And by the way if I wanted power, I still wouldn't have bought a TT

Hi, and thanks for your input. But I read on this site about lots of problems people have with Zeds and, as mine is running as sweet as a nut, I don't feel inclined to go looking for trouble. My approach is "if it isn't broke don't mend it"

Chap, whilst I understand and respect the fact rolling road, is not you thing.

I think you've misunderstood my point, it not about going looking for trouble, a "health check", is never a bad thing. "For warned is for armed", after all.

While, "if it isn't broke, don't fix it" is an opinion we both share. While I'll happy to maintain her, I've got better things to do, than strip the engine to bits just for the sake of it.

I know though experience with Japanese performance engines, when they go wrong, they do it with a "no expense spared" attitude.

Why don't you organise a meet yourself, and we come to you or a point some where in between, rather than you having to travel south all the time.

You could even be make it a joint meet with another area.

Yeah......Well maybe I'll think about what you've said about 'health checks' but I also need to think about the £30/£40. How long do I have to make my mind up?

So far as organising a meet myself, I would not wish to tread on the toes of our official regional organiser, Mental Tony, there's enough disharmony around the club at the moment and I am certainly not going to add to it, especially in my own region. I am hoping he will be organising something soon although there's not much sign of it yet. Perhaps we should watch this space and hope.

Also, I find that travelling to meets is part of the enjoyment and I don't know the South coast well enough to identify a good location for food, parking and photography.

Your map is almost correct, it just needs the addition of Berkshire.

I don't think you'd be stepping on any one's toes, I believe Tony did ask if anyone had any suggestions for a meet.

My thought pattern was more the fact that it might make a change to head your way,is there anyway near you or in the surrounding area suitable.

For the Reading/ Newbury members have a run down the M4, Bournemouth and Poole members a good drive up the A343. Plus the fact your on the border of the South west and Midland areas so there's an opportunity to have a joint meet, the more the merrier.

If you can think of any where I cannot see any reason way the suggestion should not be put forward and see what Tony and any other members think.
