I have spent the day on a calssic car treasure hunt around suffolk.

I was driving this red 4.3 litre 2 seater e-type jag in the morning :nana2:

And the red MGB cabrio in the afternoon.

There was a bit of a "sh1t yourself moment" in the morning when a corner cam up a little fast and the brakes locked up as we are careering toward a hedge. Luckily my boss (who was driving at the time) knew what to do and the car was not even scratched. ;)

We went back up the same road later and we found skid marks of about 3 feet.

The e-type was a great thrill to drive, just looking out over the bonnet from the cockpit is exhilarating.

It is a quite close ratio 4 speed box and it loves to accelarate.

The steering was extremely heavy (as you expect with no power steering) but also felt inaccurate and did not inspire confidence.

The brakes were awesome as they had just been rebuilt.

It was a great day out and we won the first prize trophy and a couple of bottles of bubbly! :hyper:

What a day...

Awesome I'd like to give one of those a go. There's a rather posh coachwork company around the corner from where I've been working in Hastings lately. Everyday they have different E-types in there for restoration. You can watch online as they restore your car. Very impressive, and very expensive.
