can someone remove this fuse and tell me....

Hi guys, I have decided to split up my last post to indivdual questions as im in need of multiple help. :p

I am trying to find a battery drain on the car, and all signs point to the circuit that controls the door ligting (room lamp) and the autolocking system

now, I removed the following fuse : 10A (Bottom Right) AutoDoor and Roomlamp, and now my stereo system doesnt work!

Can someone also remove this fuse - and see if the same thing is happening to theirs. i get the feeling my wiring has been tamp0red.

Very common issue that is caused sometimes by alarm engineers connecting into the door open circuit to trigger the alarm, unfortunately dependant upon the alarm a back feed can occur and this earth grounds the circuit.

Under normal circumstances this would not be a problem with the interior light switched off, however the 300zx has an operation relay in the light circuit and this will be energised regardless of the interior bulb been switched on or off.

The relay needs unplugging to prove the problem, it is located in the nearside rear inner wing area which is accessed inside by the removing the rear seat squab, you will see a small controll box with a relay attached to it, this is the relay, try unplugging it and it may well be warm as it has been energised for a while.

See how you go.

daveman - brillant advice thank you! would this also be the cause of my glowing door light (on dash) regardless of doors open or shut - or is that more likely to be a bad earth?

Glowing door light is more typical of a poor earth connection, however in the interior light circuit there are diodes to stop the rear boot light switch interfering with the front door switch operation, so it is possible there is problems there too, take the boot light bulb out and the cabin bulb out to eliminate the circuit.

Once you have found the light relay as previously mentioned check the door open warning light then, if it goes out then fine but if stays dim it has to be a faulty earth, maybe at the rear of the clocks.
