ok i know i've asked about wheels a few times but these ones are special order and allot of dosh.

I'm ordering 10's for the rear.

but the front i have the choice of either 9's or 8's i've been advised both sizes so confused.

The guy is calling me back shortly to confirm order.

i'm going for 295/35/18 on the rear and 235/40/18 on the front, hope that's correct also. just to clarify they are wider rear arches.

Thanks, thakns, thanks.

I wouldn't go with 9's on the front it will cause problems and there's no need to go that wide anyway.

I don't rate Toyos in the wet at all. They're OK in the dry, but not in same league as Bridgestone S02's or Mitchelin Pilots which have the best grip wet or dry.

If your spending all that money on your car then my advices is to put the best rubber you can on it and then you can enjoy more power even in the wet.

+ The 300zx was designed on Bridgestone tyres and came in the UK with S02's standard fitment.

omg complicated questions, as they are made to order i just got asked what offset i wanted. confusion????

i just said standard 300zx no idea what that may mean.

You want to get a 25 offset for the front Standard is 30 ,but 25 fills the wheel arch much better.

If you have wide arches then you need to get them calculated up properly or use a standard 30/35 offset and wheel spacer. Which is a pitty if your having them made up.

oh... The timming is all bummed up. i have no idea how wide it will done when the arches are on.

It is a bit of a shame isn't it, better stick with standard as i don't have any idea.

The proper way yo do it is to get the wheels and then have the arches fitted to the wheels.

Are you having an of the shelf kit or a custom maded?

Off the shelf will have a set distance that it increases the footprint width.

ie the Standard Strosek is 60mm per side. So you could explain to your wheel supplier that the standard offset is 30 and you need to increase the width of the rear wheel foot print by 60mm per side (120 over all) and he should be able to calculate how much he needs to decrease the offset. Then even if it is 5 to 10mm out. Who ever puts your arches on can ajust them to suit your wheels perfectly.

Is the offset 30 on all corners??? i know that sounds daft, but i'm not sure about how the wider back wheels affect it!

The kit is off the shelf but that wont be fitted to the car for a few months yet.

Standard wheel is 35 offset on Jspec and 30 on UK on the rears. I believe, but if I'm wrong someone will soon put me write. Yep the offset will be affected by the wheel width, but if the wheel supplier is gien the correct original wheel size and offset he will calculate to correct offset.

these are the sizes the wheels have been ordered in, they are different again 5x114.3. et38.

They the rears. the ET38 seems OK if your running standard arches and want no fouling.

  • Author

that's all round. it didn't specify front or back so must meant all round.

the arches wont be a standard size on the rear, they will be flared wide arse.

Am running 9 in fronts and 10 in rears with T1R's all round bud :D

front offset is 30 and the rear is 35 on mine, though am not a wide arse, lol

cheers

smithy

Im using 9" all round with a + 10 front and +15 rear offset they fill the arches no rubbing, standard rear arch with a lip roll on the rear .With a 255/235 tyre on 17" wheels .
