Just a couple of questions if anyone can help

Had the old fellas car while he was on his jolly's in Austrailia, Citroen C8 2.0 petrol.

first of all running temp by the gauge is 95 all the time rises above this and fan cuts in back down to 95. Too me this is running to hot

Second covered 450mile on £70 of fuel again to me seems a little excessive as my zed prob uses less.

Anyway when the old fella got back told him about this and he had it booked in today at the citroen dealership he bought it from.

When he picked it up he was told that there is nothing wrong with the fuel consumption and that 98c was the normal running temp for the car.

Dont believe this at all

Any comments welcome :D

Car is a 56 reg and has covered 4,000miles

cheers

modern engines run at higher temps, iirc it makes them more fuel efficient, but that obviously goes against the silly consumption it has.

cheers bud

Well I make that approx 28mpg (given 96p per litre), so it sounds poor to me. My 12 year old 1.8 petrol Xantia did 35mpg.

My SLK runs at between 90 and 100 degrees - bank in the middle of the guage - so I wouldn't worry about 95 :D

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
