i had an amp do that to me i found it was a bad earth, by using a more suitable guage of cable and had it shorter solved my problem. it may be worth a shot.

ive used the biggest earth cable i could find 28 quid a meter but my earth point could be iffy ill check it tommoz thanx again

Think I had this once,has the amp got low and high inputs?

I'm sure mine was sommat' to do with this and I had to swap em'-sorry but I aint' no ICE man!! :wack:

cheers buddy it got the rf leads going to it and unlike the other amps ive used in the past its not got a gain control its got db levels and volt levels its all foreign to me but cheers anyway

normally, if the protection is cutting in when you crank it up then its a sign of a either, a faulty driver thats shorting out, short on wiring like a strand of wire thats stuck out, bad earth or pos connection or the amp is faulty. the most common ones ive come across are the driver voice coil starts to short out or the amp is on its way out. its also possible that the amp is not powerful enough to drive the speakers correctly.
