just been offered a crappy old datsun with the reg number " MAT 16V " for 600 squid its just gone through its mot so the guy said theres no problem with transfering the plates over

does anyone reckon its worth it i dont want the car but the guy said its all going together as he cant be bothered with it

has anyone done anything like this before and what costs are involved

Its got to be worth more than £600

It's certainly worth a look for similar Numbers and see how much they go for ..or you could get a valuation from most companies .. i should imagine

why not buy the car, stick the plate on retention,have another number put on the car & sell it. that way the plate wont cost you 600. :D

top idea geez the cars not in bad nick i need to price it all up i think but cheers top idea

id check the paperwork thoroughly though because the dvla records show MAT16V to be on a 1995 rover coupe.

:eek: I did it years ago and they did an insection on the car the plate was coming off at the local DVLA office, but not the car I put it on, maybe things have changed.

I never checked out the VIN on the old Jag I bought (just for the plate) but lucky enough it all checked out at the local office OK,, easy way to rip someone off though I guess.
