nzr highlited icons on desktop

i dont know how its happend but my desktop icons are all highlighted, how do i undo this any ideas??

    okay....

    Right click my computer, click on properties, click on the "advanced" tab then click on "settings" button under "performance" scroll to the bottom and put a check in "use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop"

     

    That should sort it!

    what else could it be?? i know a friend got rid of my recent documents, dont know how though, just that they were a bit embarassing at times :rofl:
