When I depress my brake pedal, the button on the side of the shifter doesn't release, what would cause this?

As it's most annoying having to try and press the front one down.

My one ended up like that when I had to pull a wire out from the ignition barrell so that I could take my key out when the turbo timer was running. Did ask to seee if there was only solutions to fix it but no one seemed to know otherwise!

 

So just lived with it! :D

But mine has always worked, didn't do anything to the car or wiring, and it just stopped working?

Is there a microswitch there that might have moved???

please help.
