Let me start at the beginning.........

In the middle of January this year I decided to buy myself an in-car DVD player, which basically set me back £220, from Hong Kong.

I received it all OK (eventually) and fitted it in Eliza. One week later the screen wouldn't open out, so I contacted the dealer and requested as to what should I do...... to cut a long story short we arranged to have it sent back to him for a replacement, which I did. I was charged £44 + £10 extra value insurance, to have it Tracked back to Hong Kong, by Parcel Force. I've since found out that the service I paid and asked for wasn't in fact trackable!!! (Fookin stupid numpty Post office tw@ )

So I was told to phone Parcel Force up and quote my tracking number to find out where it was........ Guess what??? ;)

They've lost it!!! In fact not only have they lost it, they never had it on their computer to start with!!

So I was advised by the lady I spoke to at Parcel Force (very helpful by the way) to go to the small Post Office I always use, make sure it wasn't still there (no chance as it's a small sub-post office) and if not then to obtain a claim form, fill it out and send it in. I did this last Monday.

As you can probably guess, I've not heard anything yet, so I've just rang them up, to be told I'll be lucky to hear anything by the middle of next week!!!! Because they have a back-log of claims!! ;) Now THAT says something doesn't it?

So currently I'm £275 out of pocket and nothing to show for it! You can probably gather why I'm a little pissed off!

Now how much do you reckon I'll receive in compensation and how long do you reckon I'm going to have to wait to receive it, if at all??!!??

I'll keep this updated when, and if, I hear anything else ;)

Nothing straight fooking forward is it, sort of shit that happends to me. They should at least give you back the money the item is worth plus the cost of posting and the Tracking you didnt have to pay for due to wrong infomation by a knob. Good luck anyway Dave hope it gets sorted soon

I sent a Porsche part to USA some time back.. I sent it 'over insured' for £200 (just incase!!).... It went missing, I made a claim...

They sent me £30.00 stating the item was most likely lost overseas, and the insurance I paid for only covered the package whilst in The UK

£30.00 was the basic insurance cover, and that's all I got :headvswal  :xxx:

you pay a tad more for UPS etc. And now you know why.

parcel force are pretty bad. They just left my rps on the door step in full view of the street with no sig. I rang up and they said they dont get sigs (but confirmed it was insured for 500 quid)?

i tried to claim once for a damaged item, they said they would send out a form, 10 days later still no form. rang up for another and they said i couldnt claim as was more than 28 days from date of posting!

whatever you do, keep chasing them, the worms will do anything to get out of it, make yourself aware of the legality of it all, not meaning to sound like the grim reaper but companies hate paying out even if it clearly their fault. make sure you have a real gooed read of their conditions of carrage, so the cant worm their way out of it. all the best hope it gets resolved in your favour bud

Not sure it will help for this problem but may help in the future. The NCA link at the top may be able to give you some advice on what to do.

your to honest mate.id have had the clutch and claimed for another.i had a courier leave some fishing gear i ordered outside and the cheeky bugger forged the signature with the name smith.how original !!.dear mistake on there behalf.kept the gear and flogged the replacements which they paid for.

Parcelforce standard to the US is insured for £150 mate, you can pay extra for a higher level and it will be marked on the bottom right hand side of your slip if you paid it. The very top right number is the tracking, however if sent economy, thats by sea and not really trackable, if sent standard, then that is and again it's marked on the slip which service you used.

Average time is usually 10 days for claims to be finalised.

Hope that helps in some small way, sozzz
