Hi All

Yes I know August is a long way off at the moment, but I need to get something sorted for this one.

As some of the Midlands members know, I have recently started a new job with Launde Abbey, which is a charitable trust. Every year a the fund raising group, called the Friends of Launde Abbey, hold a series of open days over the August Bank Holiday weekend to try and raise some much needed funds.

We have been invited to attend the open day on the Monday which is the Bank Holiday Monday and show upto 6 of our cars during the day. The area where the cars will be stood is a gravel area and in a good position. These invitations are not given out lightly and personally I think that it is a good opportunity to show off our cars and help a worthy cause, and not jsut because I work there.

Of course, myself and Z Evo Guy will be there with our car, so I can take up to another 5, but possibly up to 7. (If I talk nicely to the organiser)

If anyone is interested, please put your name on the thread so that I guage response, and please do not forget you are helping a worthy cause.

Kind regards

Dave

PS There is not cost to us as individuals or as a club, just the fuel to get you there and home again

Come on lets have some more names down, it will be a shame if I have to tell the organiser that I can't fulfill the invitation

Hi Guy's

If you still need more support, please could you add me to the list.

I will be buying a 300ZX TT sometime during the next 3 weeks. I will also be joining as a full club member before the end of this month (once I've bought a car).

Having spent the last 12 months as Chairman of the Corrado Club (until my resignation in April), I am well aware of the need to support events such as this one.

Cheers for this, as soon as further details are available, I will let you know.

Hi all, further update on the above, we need a few more cars for this event, it promises to be a great day, in a new format, as well as helping our a charitable trust, it will also raise awareness of the 300zx Forum, so if you are free for a few hours on this day, let me know and add yourself to the list, timings will be published later

Cheers

Dave

Where exactly is it and what's involved?

Do we have to pay?

Is it limited to 7 cars or can others come but not be 'shown'?

  • Author

It is an open day for a charitable trust for which I work, you do not have to pay, all you have to do is to turn up on the day and show your car off, everybody is welcome, it is like an old fashioned garden fete.

It is situated about 4 miles from East Norton, Leicestershire, which is on the A47 about 5 miles from Uppingham. Others can come, originally it was limited to 7 but that may change. For further information, you can e-mail me at david@launde.org.uk

Sounds like a great event.

I'd love to some but cen never be sure about my work. If there's still space near the time and I'm free I'd like to come.

Surely you don't have to work on a Bank Holiday Monday, by all means if you r free turn up on the day, I am sure we can find space for you.

For those who have said they are attending this event, can you please confirm that you are definitely coming. If so you need to be at Launde no later than 10.15 on the Monday morning. I could do with a few more cars on display, so if you can coerse any more people to attend please do do.

Nick, thanks mate, if you know of anyone who bring their cars, it would be appreciated even of they are not 300zx, perhaps some people of another Forum

David :smash:

Am looking for something to do this weekend. Will try to make it but not sure I can get there that early.

Do you have a postcode for the sat nav or web site for the site?

Thinks it's around 80 miles away which is not a problem but car has been playing up lately so will have to see. Would be nice to see bunnys new machine.

Darrell

PS congrats on the new arrival.
