Anyone recommend a car transporter in the Midlands area?

Need to move my currently engine-less Z so looking for a reliable company in the Midlands with a flatbed to do the job. Preferably one that's suitable for lowered cars (even without the engine there could be loading and unloading issues...).

If anyone could recommend a company I'd be grateful.

Cheers,

Leigh.

Why don't you push it out onto the street and phone the AA or leave it on a double yellow and i,m sure the council will move it for you.

How far have you got to move it in seriousness. I'm sure Wozzer knows someone, the guy that brought his back after blowing the engine.

I'm working for a company called Arthur Jones Motors doing their company rebrand.

I'll ask peter the director if they'd be able to help. They have a special covered trailor usint especially for performance car transportation and pretty much every type of low loader you could ever need.

I'll give him a call on monday and see if he can help.

Where would it be from/to?

Hi mate, the company Jeff uses are brill, very friendly, understands peeps concerns for their pride and joy and man he's cheap. He took me upto Preston some time ago without a single issue and was cheaper than anyone else. Fraid i dunno the company name, but if yer ring Jeff ( 01827259222) and ask for Bobby the recovery man's Number, am sure he'll help yer :)

Oh and he's a brummie, so bound to be close to yer :p

Cheers for the response guys, very muchos appreciated! (lol@Stella! :D ;))

Its going from Bodywork Plus:

Unit 65

Sapcote Trading Estate

Powke Lane

Cradley Heath

B64 5QR

to my home address in Shirley, Solihull.

Mr Bunny, if you don't mind asking them that would be perfick as I need to move it as soon as possible so we can get on with the engine (preferably early next week) :D

And Smithy, what a crackin' idea. Didn't even think of Jeff! Nice one :D

Resurrecting this thread as I might be in need of a transporter should a sale of a Z I'm looking at come off. Unfortunately at the moment it seems the high price of having a car picked up and delivered might rule out the sale...one quote was £360!! Anyway, I'm ideally looking for a firm based in either Birmingham or Norwich as pick up would be in Norwich and drop off would be, suprise, suprise, in Birmingham (Solihull). If anyone knows or can recommend a firm that would be great (I'm going to be ringing Jeff on Monday to see what firm he uses ;))

Cheers,

Leigh.

i used someone who picked up my zed from Amersham and dropped it off in Bromsgrove for only £120 - I will search my old posts and get the number for you.

Cheers mate, would be muchos appreciated! :)

I cant find his number, but email him at garry@gp-rs.co.uk and mention that he dropped off a zed from amersham to bromsgrove at a really good rate.

I did tell him at the time I would try and put more business his way. Hope he does you proud.

Cheers Steve, that's brilliant, will send him an email this weekend :) BTW, on another note, sorry I haven't been in touch about the spray gun! Things have been a bit up in the air about what I'm doing with the Landy...at the moment it looks like she might be up for sale pretty soon "as is". Which should make a nice project car for someone since it also comes with a complete 200Tdi Disco engine, Steve Parker downpipe conversion kit, custom made stainless snorkel etc etc...essentially everything I slaved to get together for the swap...would be nice to find a car that my better half likes to drive! :( ;)

Not seen this post before (yes I know it's an old one)

Eliza has been picked up twice by these people this year ( :headvswal ) and the last time was with this special covered one that Nick mentioned. The company was extremely helpful, driver very knowledgeable and friendly, he took his time (blocking off half of ASDA, Oadby's carpark) lowering the rear onto the ground, and winching Eliza on. All covered over for extra protection, I was very impressed with them, a very professional outfit indeed. Oh yeah, and it didn't cost me a penny ;) good old RAC!

Stevie007: I sent your chap an email regarding transporting the car but got an automated message back saying he's away on holiday so looks like he might have to be ruled out :(
