Lotus Elan any info please

I am going to look at an Elan tomorrow, has anyone here owned one? or got any info good and bad, things to look for and weak points please.

For a little extra money you could get a Series 1 Elise which performs better and is newer.

 

With an Elan, obviously check the convertible roof other than that I don't know much about them.

Been to see a couple of Elise's and I am put off by the interiors, I know they are like that for a reason but I like some creature comforts.

I can understand that but far more fun to drive. Personally I would want a Series 2 as they are easier to get in.

A friend had an Elan and I don't recall him complaining about anything however he had a non turbo.

However Paul Matty doesn't appear to have any Elan's I assume you are after! May be worth a call though.
