i know someone who is on the dole (she has been for years lazy cow, milking the system), anyway she has just inherited £40,000 and i told her that she would lose all her dole money and housing benefit and will have to start to pay council tax (only fookin right aswell)

anyway, she has been to a solicitor who has told her the deed the money from the will to someone else open a joint bank accout and she can use the money that way and keep all benefits (boils my fookin piss)

is this correct, or is she just filling me full of shit, may have to have a word with inland revenue lol

a bit off topic but, how could you get away paying tax on inheritance of say £3m which is tied up in property at the moment

The estate will have to go through probate where they wan't values of most things. This includes a valuation by an approved person of the property. The tax on this money will then be expected from the estate before any money is paid to anybody.

As for the interitance this woman is getting. Surely giving it to someone else and then drawing the money out is still fraud of some sort. She is still getting an income of some sort which should affect her social. Report her to everybody you can think of. Inland revenue and social even if it is just for orking whilst on benefits if as you say she has been working whilst on disability.

Get some mates to report her as well so the social get more than just one hit on her and they may do something about it.

Being dyslexsic when i first read this thread I thought it said hiding inteligence and was totally flumaxed by the subject mater. I'm not blond honest.

But the way to avoid inheritence Tax is to get your Folks to give you their home now and sign an agreement that they can live their as long as they wish.

i think its rented property, so will be 40% tax on it as its a business, you could get them to sign it over to you now but still draw a wage from it, will ask my boss to rrow as thats what we do (rent property)

cant see that working at all...for the purposes of means tested benefits it will still be counted as capital / income a joint account ....still the lawyer gets paid so what does he care :)

has to be a market rent too....no discounting for family allowed

well im might grass the fookin lazy bitch up, she aint worked at all in her life (she is 52) and moans like fook all the time that she has a bad back so cant work, yet she has been working fiddle for an ironing company for years

it boils my piss as i pay £100 a week in tax for these lazy b4stards

Do it, I would.

Actually, this may look like tax avoidance and they tend to be a lot keener on reclaiming the money than the benefits people. I dunno how the deed stuff works, but you can only 'give' away £6K per year. So even if there are deed loopholes and she has essentially 'given' it to someone else, then that person can only 'give' her back £6K per year. Need a tax expert to comment really .... worth a thought though ....

You don't pay tax on inheritance unless it's over a certain amount and that's taken at source. Her amount is under the inheritance tax so it's all her's to do as she wishes with.

no it aint she dont work and she is claiming benefits, she (by law) must use the money to pay her own way, anything over £8000 (i think) in the bank and you dont get benefits

My point was about the 'income' she would appear to have when being given her own money back. £6K per year is the max than can be gifted.

I know about the 6k rule, but as the money is already hers she doesn't even need to appear to hid it. As 40k is not enough for her to pay any tax on as it's inhertiage monies.

But as she's on the Rock'n'Roll and claiming everything under the sun she would be means tested. Having £40K in the bank would be a problem ....

Sad to say it but all she has to do is set it up in a trust fund via clever solicitor and will get away with paying fook all..

And still maintaining all her benefits ( Fookin should be classed as fraud )

Having said that i don't believe in inheritance tax and government taxes.. robbing tw@ts

Taxed on everything you earn, buy and save and then u die and they want MORE............

you try living over here 40% tax on earnings 20% VAT and then the cheeky ****s come around and value your estate and then tax you on that when you have already paid 20% vat :nelson:

why dont you be extra nice to her & say you are welcome to use your name as the other account holder then p*ss of with the money :x:

my pi$$ is boiling now .....................and the moral of the story is .DONT VOTE LABOUR EVER AGAIN ..........................., get the lazy Fekirs back to work sweeping streets or cleaning graffiti before they get a penny off the state .....bring back family values , neuter all chavettes and castrate all chavs .....breeding should only be allowed if you finish school with a good result .....i could go on and on anyway rant over

She can give it to someone else, but they cannot return any of the money for 7 years & they have to survive the behest (gift of money) for 7 years also. Otherwise she will re-inherit & have to start all over again. Simple thing to do, is inform the DSS that she has inheritted & now has savings of over £16k & she will lose all benefits. For her to give it away, the solicitors will have to issue a cheque (or BACS or CHAPS transfer) into her account & the funds become immediately traceable! Why not stick it to her like she's been stickin' it to all of us for years.
