Can anyone tell me if a "universal" seat subframe will actually fit a zed?

Thanks.

In a word, NO. :mac1: :headvswal

There aren't any as far as i'm aware. :( I've spent absolutely ages trying to hunt some down after buying a pair of seats and apparrent 'Universal' Sub frames on ebay. The sub frames are about as useful as fart in a space suit :smash: F**kin useless!

After spending nearly 6 months trying to find some i've ended up getting a friend of mine to design & make up some brackets that will allow me to fit the original Z rails onto the seats as the bolt holes on the new seats are wider to those on the originals. I'm still waiting for them  but the CAD design is complete i'm just waiting for them to be made up should be done by the end of next week... Hopefully

Depending on the spacing & width of the bolt holes on the bottom of your seats they maybe compatible?? If so i could pass on the design or maybe get some made up for ya once i've fitted mine to check just how good they are.

Sorry i couldn't have come back to you with a positive Yes! ;)

Bride frames fit nice only problem is there a £120 a side . :headvswal

Cheers buddy..

What do you think the price would be for a set to be made up?

The 'Bride's' mentioned ^above^ are nearly as much as I was going to pay for each seat!!

Still waiting for confirmation but i've been told shouldn't be more than £100 for the pair. Will let you know price, how they fit etc and photos as soon as there completed shouldn't be much longer now.

ahem cad design you say?

I fitted mine by altering the existing drivers side to suit the corbeau seat so i still have electric back and forwards movement.

and the passenger side i used 2 pieces o flat rectangular section drilled and fitted a thread set and drilled to suit the original brackets. Then a few minutes with a set of spanners and she was in..

total time about 2 hours from inception to fitment..

I thank you..

answer is make em yourself its much cheaper ;)
