Corvette C5.....More like Sinclaire C5!!!!!

Thought you all may be interested to know the outcome of my antics yesterday when i had a good old blast with a V reg Corvette C5....Hey stupid don't even bother,you may have 5.5litres under ya bonnet but i have Jap turbo power.

 

At the set of lights on the A10 in Enfield he pulled up next to me revving his engine and looking over at me he said,and i quote "so what the hell is that thing?" to which i replied "It's about to kick your ass!!!" so you can guess what happened next....yep you got it we went for it big time and when i got up to about 90mph he was about 10 car lengths back and just a red blip in my rear view!!!!

I must say i'm impressed u beat him, those Vettes are pretty good at dragging. Are you sure it was a C5?

Ah the A10 in Enfield, know it well. Nice straight duel carriageway and a 40 mph speed limit ffs. Speed cameras every few hundred yards. Been flashed many times along that road but no tickets so far.

Definately a C5 it was one of the new ones a V reg with the speedo display on the windscreen!!! I was lucky my brakes were hot otherwise i wouldve been flashed.BTW my ZED aint standard and i had high boost flicked on so was runnin 1 BAR at the time!!

I actually have a deposit down on a C5 at the moment and have a 4 month wait but after that i think i may just get a refund!!

Test drove a demo car and loved it but thought they were faster than than they really are??!!

Spec of my car is as follows...

 

JE pistons,lightened and balanced conrods crank and flywheel,ported heads and manifolds,heads skimmed to bring compression back up to higher compression,Greddy downpipes and Greddy maximum extreme exhaust(no cats),Nismo 550cc injectors,water injection above 10psi,Helix full plate composite clutch,HKS airfilter,No MAS sensors(replaced by MAP sensors),uprated high pressure fuel pump,FSE power boost valve,Greddy Profec B boost controller(high boost 1 bar, and the whole lot is controlled by AUTRONICS engine management system!!!

Tormos discs grroved and drilled and EBC pads all round,Wings West rear mid spoiler just for effect!!!

Why don't you get yourself down to the POD, or to North Weald this weekend. I would love to see what times you post, I suspect you would run in to the 12s with those mods. Must be making 400-450 RWBHP! No wonder you kicked his ass. What do you want a Vette for?

Cheers chaps,appreciate the comments,sorry not replied sooner i've been away for a few days!!!

Thing that's holding me back is my turbos at the moment,need to get some BIG jobbies on there and should be pushing over 500bhp hopefully!!!

 

Always wanted a Vette C5.....may not bother now after that he did look really silly as he rolled up next to me at the next set of lights and stayed that little bit behind me as he came to a stop!!!

I'm looking into getting some HKS GT Turbine units but i think i'm gonna end up getting something a little cheaper,depending on how the funds hold out over the next couple of months!!!

Yes but not the engine work. I think I paid about £2200 for the pair when I had them, but they came with a bundle of other stuff so its difficult to say exactly what they cost me from Stillen. I have to say that I would not ever go for shipped in stuff again it is too much hassle. next car will be a TVR when and if I ever get my wife off the roof after she found out how much I spent on the 300. LOL

If your car has stock turbos you wont go any higher than 400whp im afriad thats about the max, no matter what you do to it.
