Car broke down today....so fvckin pi$$ed off

Was enjoying a good drive out in the zed today after ages due to a hectic work schedule and out of all bloody days it decides to pack in today.....

Called the AA out and the guy did lots of tests......he found out that the fuel pump relays and connectors are all working etc etc but the car isint being fed fuel........he goes it could be the Fuel pump.......is this possible?

The car was driving well and pulling well and then an hour later after i come back to it it wont start....

The car hasint played up before other than it cutting out when i stop on a odd occasion and the revs going a bit funny when i slow down but thats nothing out of the extrodinary

Is it the Fuel pump.......how hard is it to get it replaced?

Any help please

Is it turning over ok but not firing? Would more likely be the PTU or CAS surely.

If CAS has packed in which often happens, it won't send the signal to the ECU to say TDC which inturn sends the signal to fire the injectors, so no fuel.

Easiest way is a diagnostic check which will show this error code or you can remove the CAS, 3 x 10mm bolts ( mark 1st with felt pen where they sit in CAS bracket) once removed, ignition on and turn the spindle at the back slowly, you'll hear injectors click, no click means a blown CAS.

When you crank the engine on the starter can you hear the pump running? If not try hard wiring it pos and neg to the battery it should then run all the time and the car should start. If it dont run then its a f--ked pump.

could also be fuel pump control unit

Have you fitted dump valves? Sounds like they need tightening up if you have.

As peeps have said, the none starting sounds like the CAS (most likely) or fuel pump.

Take a coil pack out and a plug and rest it on the plenum and try cranking the car over and see if it sparks. If it does it rules out the PTU. Then listen for the fuel pump when you out the ignition on. Best way to do that is get someone else to put ignition on and listen in the boot for the fuel pump priming up.
