17" wheels...

hi guyz what tyre profile will I need to keep things true would '40 be OK for rears and '45 for the fronts or shall I go to '35 and '40 respectively. Also can I fit say a '265 to an 8"J rim??

its 19" u want not ickle 17"s that have a 3 metre gap to the arches ;o)

19's may not fit all cars, I have heard several cases where they don't seem to fit on imports as there is a suspicion that they are lower than UK spec models.

lol yeah 19s so you can have the wheels sticking out and the car bottoming out everywhere and then have to put FULDA tyres on or retreads lol.

 

45 profile is fine, its just about right actually, gives a nice ride.

225x45x17 front

235x40x17 rear

 

Works for me.

I have 17"s on mine with 245/45/ on. The profile is a tad big and the front tyres just, and I mean just skim the inside of the front arch cover when turned at a certain angle.

 

I've been checking the tyre calculator out on the Z disk and it says that for 265 it should have a 40 profile.

 

Atleast thats what I will be putting on mine next.
