Just thought i would say Hi ! ,

I am just in the process of selling my s14 rb26 project

( due to a bad back ,waiting to see a surgeon)

I need to get my mits on a quick car again however i would like an auto

as clutches give me loads of agro at the moment ( sciatica left leg )

I was pretty set on getting a supra , please dont stone me :)

however looking at some of the Zs around i think they can be much better looking cars and i think they are a more timeless design . Plus they dont do a supra aero turbo and i imagine to convert one would cost ££££s , Nissan do the tt targa and i just love the idea of this :) .

The Zs also proved to go faster , read this on sxoc not that i would want a 260 + mph car after reading about the guy with the porsche.

Anyway i have a few questions to ask before making my mind up 100%

Is it true you have to take the engine out to replace the turbos ?

Does anyone ever do track days with an auto ?

Will i be able to get one to keep up with my mothers s14a running 320bhp @ the tyres / rolling road ?

Any advice greatly appreciated , the forum is as important to me as the Z coming from sxoc , decent advice is worth a pint @ any meets

all the best - Kieran

not striclty true but yes passenger side is feasable, but not practical, by the time you have fecked around with 6 13mm spanners welded together  the engine would be out and new turbos fitted :)

as you can imagine, it would be difficult but chunk on here had a bad leg, and with his auto he managed to drive the car like its ment to :p and they can be fun still, just not as predictable or controlable as if you had a manual, but there still very quick :p

yes with a bit of tuning it wouldnt be hard, although the s14a is a lot lighter than the 300zx, it is not geared like the 300zx so topend it would leave the 200sx behind after 150mph+

i have an s14a and its very quick even at the moment, however its a differant car alltogether

with a tuned 300zx to around 400rwhp you could see 190mph ;) private test track of course :p

do a search for the boneville jun 300zx z32 it holds the fastest land speed record for its rivals :) http://www.junauto.co.jp/democar/jb-z32/index.html?en

good luck

oh and supras are ugly as sin anyway :(, a mildy styled 300zx IMO is one of the nicest cars out of japan along with the nsx :)

If a zed has more grunt how does it get to 190mph with a stock gearbox and ratios? I am curious about this as AFAIK a stock zed and gearbox can do 176mph.

The NSX does look nice too , I am very tempted and there are some cracking looking ones about . I do love the look of the supra too , have you noticed the aftermarket body kits make the nose look a bit like a Z from the front .

Nice to know i can leave my mum at 150  I will leave my licence in her glove box too :p

I managed to get to 145 once in my s14 ( autobahn of course )

and my sphincter was twiching like a rabbits nose .

I imagine the Z would be less of an anal moving experience at higher speeds :) .

Japapanese or UK ?

cheers , she is a member of sxoc too , and my bro .

scares the shit out of me when she does 145 on the private test track

and i am sitting next to her with no brakes , wheel ahhhhhhhhh.

Do you think i can get this in auto ?

already have an rb26 :p

Oh yeah cool name too , i used to manage a football team called Craig David :p

cant remember saying anything about a stock 300 twin turbo doing 190mph ;)

i know a couple of people who have been up to an around 190mph in a 300

and the autobox is capable of reaching 200 mph on standard ratio, however you would need a shed load of power, and also alot or runway

this is in theory

Jap import all the way.

I am currently breaking a UK Zed, and a lot of the parts I have removed are completely useless due to rust.

My Jap Zed is only a wee bit younger, but I just mot'd it today and the tester was astonished at it's condition.

It's a shame, it's not the car's fault, it's that damn salt grit we use in this country that's killing them

Not as ugly as Sin........... lol :)

But i do agree 100% with the rest of your statement Z32 fine , fine, fine

Cheers Martin

Also alot of people on here , have used/still use SXOC forum

Naught wrong with my UK spec high milage Zed. Depends on how it's been treated.

A jap important once in the country is under the same condidtions as a UK spec and you're less likely to have a fuller history to it as well, oh and what you do get won't be in English anyway. LOL

no your right that was a bit harsh of me :)

there more frog like :p

only answering your uk/jap question

yes once landed jap cars are under the same conditions as uk

BUT its the 12-13-14 years before that, that make the difference, i reckon i have more history of mine than most uk cars, BUT the price of the cars now, id say history doesnt mean a great deal PLUS what your planning the history will be useless

i go to the import auctions a lot and the prices of the zx, you may as well buy one from a member that has most of the stuff done and also be able to look back at what they have had done and any problems etc

also from posts you will be able to tell whether used and abused, lol funny how some post about what they have raced and how they did this and that

then a month or two later the same car has turned into being an ex nuns car :p

Thanks for the replies so far folks ;)

looks like its gonna be a Jap one then unless i find a good UK one . As far as speed is concerned i am not that bothered , as long as its not limited to 112 like my vtec prelude was , i got beat by a metro once ( on a track) :p .

Looks like there is a guy near wolverhampton who specialises in them too which would be very handy .
