Just wondering how many over 60's like me are members. The Z32's have great appeal to all ages but to us wrinklies it brings a breath of fresh air to our, perhaps otherwise sedate, lives.

I know you are only as old as you feel and my Zed certainly makes me feel a couple of decades younger. I'm not a speed merchant, I'll leave that to the younger members, but a spin along winding country roads with the roof off or a quick burnup on a dual carriageway, is a truly exhilarating experience that helps blow the cobwebs away.

I've owned many cars over the years, and driven many more, but the Z32 must rank as one of the most enjoyable I have encountered so far.

What's the views of our other 'elderly' members.

Cheers - Dave

Guess I must fall into that 'wrinkley's' group - but don't think of myself as 61 -still like my rock music and fast cars. Started off in the car industry doing an apprenticeship with Rolls Royce and Bentley on car spraying and refinishing.

My love of cars started then, have had an Austin Healey 3000, Ford Mustang, early E-Type, TVR, MGB's, etc., even had a 240Z - which I loved, until one morning got in it to go to work and my feet went through the floor - usual rust problems, so she had to go

Now have the 300 and love it, love it, love it. You're so right, nothing better than getting a quick blast and hearing the bov's kick in, especially in the summer with the roof off.

Went to the Midlands meet a couple of Sunday's ago and 6 of us all met up to go in convoy together, what a blast that was up the M1

Like you said, we'll leave the speed to the younger guys on here, I'm happy with her as she is - I suspect that she's got a little bit of extra in her anyway as I got her from MickeyB's Dad and as Mickey did the work on her there's no telling what's under the hood!!

The joy of these cars is that you can do things to your own personal taste, as with me, at the minute I'm concentrating on the engine bay - polished plenum, polished balance bar, polished strut brace (back and front) etc.,

I think I'm going through the 'It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that BLING' phase - not quite like Vince but it just needs that bit extra.

Future modes - Complete re-trim, side skirts and rear spoiler, brake upgrade

Chris

Its amazing really as I never put a forum name to an age. I see the name Z32Dave and I just picture 'dave down the pub' in a Zed.

hats off to the 'wrinklies' though!

my dad (bless him) is like 60 and can not for the love of god use a PC... is hell bent on using his merc..and insists that mercs are the only decent cars out there.... He's proper old school! The only thing thats cool ... is he wears diesel jeans .. lol (bit of modern-ness in him)

He hated the zed when i picked him up from the airport...

He was pissed coz his suitcase had to go on the back seat coz of my subs!

He insisted it was far to low for him and his back ...

He slated me coz i wouldnt let him smoke in it....

He called my exhausts - dustbins coz they were so big....

And (alot of you will agree i bet) he said it was not a girls car.....

the only thing he loved was the speed ...

So its nice to see some of the older generation have the same interests as us little scallywags and we all get on!! :duffer: :duffer:

me too although i think a few more mature drivers are buying these cars as i sold my other zed a red UK TT manual to a guy that must be in his late 50's or early 60's (no offence to the guy if he joins and reads this and is really only 21 but had a hard paper round lol) but its good to see these cars are appreciated by all ages as it keeps them out of the chav category and driven by real car enthusiasts rather than a status symbol, good on ya we should have more older guys on here then we can give a meaning to the letter Z, Z for Zimmer lol only kidding

That would make a great handle 'Dave_down_the_pub_in_a_Zed' :duffer:

Perhaps it's a bit long but it certainly fits!

I think I'm getting old. I've had 2 bypass ops, a hip replacement, new knees, fought prostrate cancer and diabetes. I'm half blind, can't hear asnything quieter than a jet engine, take 40 differeent tablets that make me dizzy, winded and subject to sudden blackouts. Have bouts of dementia. Have poor circulation; I can hardly feel my hands and feet anymore. Can't remember if I'm 85 or 92 or maybe 59. All my friends have died of old age.

but, thank god, I still have my driving licence!
