Just found a stonking bike for sale on ebay and emailed the bloke asking if the buy it now price was correct and got this reply :

As you can see in the images the bike is in a perfect shape with no damage, no scratches or dents, never touched the ground, no hidden defects, and it is as advertised. I'm the owner with the HPI clear , log book. You will receive all the papers and documentation, the clear title and the certificate of origin and all the bills and invoices. There is no liens on the title and you will not have any complications about the registration and licensing the bike.

 

 

Since november 2005 i started a new business in Italy but unfortunately the things didn't work the way i expected and now i really need cash because i am at one step to lose my restaurant from here ,so i decided to sell the bike.

The bike will be delivered from Italy because it is here with me .

 

The price for the bike is £1,700. The shipping costs are deducted from the price so there will not be any additional costs or charges for you regarding the shipping. This is the final and total amount to pay.I will only close the deal through eBay Motors Protection program. I am eligible for their protection for transactions up to £20,000.s against fraud and material misrepresentation through the Vehicle Purchase Protection program. After you'll receive the bike, you'll have 5 days period for inspection. If you decide to keep the bike, eBay will release the payment to me. definitley sounds like a scam - don't believe ebay offer an escrow service, in fact i'm sure of it!

Iv'e just asked him if I can come a collect it as my mate lives in Italy and I'm staying with him for a few weeks. I'll see what he says to that lol !

He'll want the money by transfer before you get the bike. It's a common scam. WALK.

I bet it's already packed in a crate ready for shipping so you cant collect from him direct. I tried this about eight months back from a guy in France, who was selling a BMW Z4. When I said I had a place in Nice he told me the car was already packed at the Docks waiting shipping.
