Printer problem

I have a hp laserjet.

Tried to print something this morning. Colour cartridge is working fine. Black ink cartridge stopped working completely. Put new black cartridge in and it does nothing at all. So if the cartridge is OK, why would it not print anything (not even faint lines). The colour cartridge is still working ???????

Any advice appreciated.

Try to print something, when the status monitor comes up go to maintainence then Clean cartidges, click Clean and it should pull in a piece of paper and start printing pattern to flush the nozzles clean.
